Francis G. Forwood, D.M.D.
Dr. Forwood received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) in 1969. He was employed for four years as a mechanical engineer before entering dental school.
Dr. Forwood received his dental degree and completed a residency in orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. He practiced orthodontics in Massachusetts before returning to the University of Pennsylvania to serve as a clinical director of orthodontics from 1980 to 1984. He has served on the faculty as an assistant clinical professor of orthodontics since 1980.
He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Pennsylvania and American Dental Associations, a Diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics and the Delaware/Chester County Dental Society. In addition, Dr. Forwood sponsors three local baseball teams, The American Cancer Society Relay For Life and The Sunshine Foundation Sunshine Run, numerous school theatrical productions and volunteers with his church. He is married and has three children.
Kimberly F. Christie, D.M.D.
Dr. Christie received a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Psychology from Lehigh University in June 2000. While at Lehigh she was chosen to be a member of the Roy Eckard College Scholar Program. Upon graduation from Lehigh she taught at the Ivymount School in Rockville, MD. The Ivymount School is a school for special needs children.
Dr. Christie received her dental degree from The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine in June 2006. She graduated with two Departmental Honors. She completed a two year postdoctoral residency in Orthodontics at The University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine in June 2008. At the completion of her residency she was awarded the Department of Orthodontics Outstanding Research Award.
She is a member of The American Association of Orthodontics, The Pennsylvania and American Dental Association and The Delaware/Chester County Dental Society. She is Board Eligible in Orthodontics. Kim and her husband have joyfully welcomed their first child, a daughter in January 2009.
